At The Top of The Game

How does your week look?
Is it packed?

Mine is ultra busy but I'd like to briefly share
Some thoughts that have super-charged my life.

Often times we look at the top for examples--
Such as authors J.R.R. Tolkien, Maya Angelou
and James Patterson--
Or Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs and Oprah.

Among those are some inspiring stories of
Faith, determination and rags to riches.

But today a story of weakness to strength,
And defeat to success
Has freshly inspired me.

A name we all know
Started at the bottom and
Worked to the top.
  Yes
That's
How
We
Climb
A
Mountain.

From the bottom
To the top--
One
Step
At
A
Time.

Amidst the  wealthy in a private school,
Students were ranked by their entrance grades
And walked into ceremonies according to those ranks.
Winston Churchill was a poor student and
Was always the last to enter.
He was very ashamed and
From childhood he suffered with a lisp
And stuttered terribly.

He determined to do something about it.
Churchill stood in front of a mirror and
Labored over every syllable for hours
Until he finally could speak clearly.

Those were the initial steps of determination
By a man who would become a polished orator,
One of the strongest world leaders
And one who left an incomparable legacy.

From the bottom to the top.
 What is your mountain?
What are your obstacles?
What are your dreams?

Don't focus upon the height of the mountain.

Sit quietly,
“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength."
 --Isaiah

Pray,
Connect with the all-knowing, all-powerful
Creator of our universe.

Plan,
“Plan the work and work the plan—
And "eat the elephant one bite at a time."

Do first things first
And look toward your goal, dreams, purpose and
The finish line.

Let's allow one who climbed from the bottom to the top
To inspire and challenge us to
Go forth to victory--

In his own words
Winston Churchill reminds us:
"Never
Never
Never
Give Up."
